Did you mean 'shouldn't' Steve  ;D

Hi me again,

I have searched for the question here to see if it's been posted before but it doesn't seem to have been.

Is there anywhere in the Arcade mod that you can see which member downloaded a game file?

I tested it out with my alter ego on my site and downloaded 2 games. I then logged back in as me and looked in the alter ego profile under the 'Arcade Statistics' but nothing was seen and I have checked and the games show there have been downloads, see attachment.

I know that with the ipsproarcade you can see who downloaded so I was wondering if I've missed something somewhere?

Quote from: Ronald on May 24, 2021, 03:26:44 PMI have no clue how to correct this. You'll have to wait until Chen reappears.

Not a problem Ron I've already changed it on my site. Just need to go into the folder and rename it with a lowercase c.

Just to let you know that in the 2.64 version the 'cancel.png' icon in 'arc_icons' folder has a capital 'C' and according to the code it should be lowercase.

Thanks Steve. As I said I'll not pursue it anyway, the games will be free to download.

Quote from: Skhilled on May 17, 2021, 08:35:53 AMI have the downloads mod and have created certain membergroups and attached certain games/gamepacks to it. You may be able to use the "Subscriptions" feature in smf to help with this although I have not tried it. ;)

I have looked at it Steve and apart from uploading each pack/game separately it wont work. I have now decided not to go down that route anyway. All downloads will be free.
Thanks for the reply though

Does anyone know where the date format is for the Arcade please?

It doesn't seem to be linked to the site date as mine is set to the way we set the date in the UK- Day:Month:Year

I have looked in the arcade css but cant see it in there, I have also had a look in the templates and even in some of the scripts searching for 'date' but I can't find anything.

Thanks for any help

I'll install it on my test site tomorrow and check it out.
Hi Chen,

Another question for you.

Looking at the growing size of the 'Games' folder on my site. Is it possible to have multiple folders for the storage?

The reason I ask is that I use 'XCloner' to run cron jobs to back up the whole site, at the moment once a week. The size of the last backup was around 1GB and it's growing all the time. As you can see from this screenshot size.PNG

With the 'Downloads Pro' mod there is an option to enable multiple folders down.PNG

In the settings for the XCloner I can 'Excluded Directories' which means once a folder is full I can stop that folder from being backed up as it no longer gets populated with new files, therefore the size of my backup is reduced from time to time.

Thanks and regards

Hi Ronald,

Thanks for the reply. I do have a test site that I use for that purpose and believe me I have tested all sorts of ways, with permissions and membergroups etc to get it done but nothing I've tried yet works. I will look through some more options but I'm not a coder like Chen so I'm very limited on what I can do.

Is already installed on another one of my old sites that I'm still admin for and although it would do the job, the problem is that the downloads for this mod  have to be uploaded separately from the games we upload to the Arcade as they need a link created by the mod to be able to download them when someone presses the 'Download' button, which means that you'd have to upload the file and create posts for each game unless you did it in packs. The problem with packs are that you never know what you are getting and if you start 'selling' (I know it's not direct selling, but it is pretty close and I wouldn't want to go into a court of law with it) games then some people might not be happy if most of the pack they've just downloaded includes a bunch of old 2010 flash games. You could list the games I suppose but that is a hell of a lot of work.
Your site has the ideal way to give people games they want as they can play them first before downloading them, which is why I subscribed to your VIP package. In fact I'm keeping Oak and Momo busy as I keep finding games that are not working for one reason or another and then reporting them.

You can have linked downloads in the mod where you use links from file hosts but again you still have to upload them separately.

It's not actually a critical request I just thought that as Chen is so good at what he does he might be able to get it working in a future update sometime.

Thank for the ideas though it is appreciated. I'll keep testing, that's what I'm good at  ;)

Take care and stay safe
