Quote from: Chen Zhen on January 09, 2022, 02:33:12 PMI can implement a PM option to all admin and arcade moderators.

That would be great, thank you

Yes I'd like to see these too please?

With the amount of games failing for one reason or another these ideas would be a good addition to the mod.

SMF Arcade Support + Plugins / Game Posting
December 29, 2021, 08:27:53 AM
Ignore this please. Sorry but I misunderstood the 'Game Posting' option. I thought it was for others to upload games to the site for inclusion to the arcade...which in thinking about it wouldn't really be that safe...although when you download from other sites they might not be safe either.

Anyway the upshot is you can delete this post if you want to

Well I went back into this and found that although I could have sworn I seleted the translator correctly I hadn't. Also I didn't see the end point code on my first visit. After sitting here and reading and now reset all the settings to what I think is correct I'm still not getting the translator to work.
Again I have attached a screen shot of the current settings, if anyone has set theirs up already can you have a quick look at the image and see what I might have wrong please?

NOTE: I did see that there are 2 endpoint codes but only copied in the first one on the list. Again I have edited some of the code, but anyone looking who knows about it should be able to tell if I'm using the correct type of code in each box.

Thanks for any help.

I have set up the Azure API and input all the data to the arcade settings, api.PNG
(I have shortened the subs key)

I was under the impression that the app would translate the game info from the php file 'gwords' description to english.

Am I wrong? If so could the reason be that when creating the API I set it up as Linux rather than Windows or that I'm using 'UK South' as the region code?

Uninstalled games:

When I uninstall a game now the name of the game is not shown in the info window. It does when a game is installed.

PS I've done these both on the same post so as not keep posting.

SMF Arcade Support + Plugins / Ruffle update
December 17, 2021, 03:32:33 AM
I updated Ruffle using the built in arcade updater and when you use the 'Retrieve Github Ruffle Update' the .wasm file has no content, 0 kb.

I also uploaded todays Ruffle update (donwnloaded today from Ruffle page) using the browse option and when it uploads and auto extracts that too has no content.

The only way, for me at least, to ensure the update is done correctly is to do it manually via ftp.

I think the problem is that when the updates are extracted they're extracting a folder rather than the files because when I auto extract the files they go into a folder. If I then take all the extracted files and create a new archive the update works OK.

Just thought you should know

Quote from: Skhilled on December 12, 2021, 07:30:42 PMIs that for the entire site or just the arcade?

The entire site on SMF 2.0. I have a test site thats running 2.1 and I agree. I was convinced I had done something that was affecting the site in various ways so I backed everything up and just deleted the whole site and started again  with a fresh install.

I think one of my issues is with my choice of themes that I like, the current one 'Curve Reborn' uses a lot of JS and another one I like 'Lamartine' has the same. The only one that seems to work OK without issues is Crips 'Cleantek 20g' but that's proably becuase there is very small amount of JS in it, I'm using it on my other site and wanted Quizland to be different.

I may play with that next year and see if I can change the colours etc to get it to be something like what I'm after.

Good luck with the theme Steve and have a great Christmas and New Year

Quote from: Skhilled on December 01, 2021, 10:45:17 PMEDIT: I also need to redo my forum so everything's updated...

Yes I completely understand. I'm no good at major coding so I can't even begin to understand what UD was talking about hooks etc.

I have just rebuilt my site because of issues and now I'm quite pleased with the result but when I access the site on my tablet it doesn't work well. I then use the 'Show as Desktop' setting in the browser and it's better. Apparently the mobile detect mod on the SMF site works with some code changes but I wouldn't know where to start.

Anyway, take care and have a peaceful Christmas.

Did you get any further with this that you can share Steve?

Thanks for the info UD.

It wasn't a case that I couldn't upload at all, I was disabling the block when uploading anyway I was just bringing it to your attention in case it was an arcade issue. I have now resolved the issue thanks to your input the Wordsearch block was giving a lot of errors, so I've now removed it.

I have checked the html uploader and it's working as normal

Everything is working fine until I decide to upload new games via the html5 uploader (using the standard uploader is fine)

I have found out, through process of elimination, that the uploader will not function while I have the 'Friends Of Quizland' scrolling block running. The block is part of Simple Portal 2.3.7. If I disable the block in the portal settings then it's fine and I can upload game files. The code is as follows;

<script type="text/javascript" src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.4/jquery.min.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function() {
    var ob = $('.scrollingtext');
    var speed = 100000;

    ob.bind('marquee', function() {
        var tw = ob.width();
        var ww = ob.parent().width();
        ob.css({right : -tw });
        ob.animate({ right: ww }, speed, 'linear', function() {
        ob.trigger('marquee');
        });
    }).trigger('marquee');

    ob.hover(function() {
        ob.stop();
    }, function() {
        var tw = ob.width();
        var ww = ob.parent().width();
        var cur = parseInt(ob.css('right'), 10);
        var speedDecrease = 1 - ((cur + tw) / (ww + tw));
        ob.animate({ right: ww }, speedDecrease * speed, 'linear', function() {
        ob.trigger('marquee');
        });
    });
});
    </script>

<style>
.scroll{
  width:100%;
  height:201px;
 text-align: center;
  overflow:hidden;
  position:relative;
}

.scrollingtext{
  white-space:nowrap;
  position:absolute;
 }
</style>

Thanks very much UD. There is an .htaccess file in the 'Games' folder.

Quote from: Chen Zhen on October 27, 2021, 08:28:10 AMThere is a maintenance task to purge your download folder and you are better off using it. Do not delete the index.php or .htaccess files from that folder.

UD there is no .htaccess file in that folder. I have checked the test site version too there is only an index.php

Thanks for the reply.

I have now checked the box and will delete all the files in the folder again.
