No problem. ;D

It can be annoying and can cause issues with some mods. Some mods are coded to make sure the db is the same version as the forum files. It's more of a PITA than anything else. LOL

Quote from: Daniel Hofverberg on November 12, 2020, 06:58:42 PMFor some reason, the database had a default collation of that weird utf8_mb4_0900_ai_ci, which I have never willingly opted for.

I can only assume it must have happened when I recently switched to a new server host (as the old host shut down) - it seems that utf8mb4_0900_ai_ci is the default collation since MySQL 8.0 (for some strange reason), so apparently it must have used the default for the database itself when I imported the dump from the old server. Very annoying... :(

I'm so sorry for wasting your time with something that apparently wasn't SMF Arcade's fault. :-[

Different hosting will use different collations by default. To change this, follow this article:

https://www.casbay.com/guide/kb/how-to-change-the-mysql-collation-settings-in-phpmyadmin/

Also, make sure that you do what's in this link to help:

Quote from: Daniel Hofverberg on November 09, 2020, 06:18:30 AMNote: It appears that your database may require an upgrade. Your forum's files are currently at version SMF 2.0.17, while your database is at version 2.0. The above error might possibly go away if you execute the latest version of upgrade.php."

What does that mean, and how do I resolve this?

It means that you've probably upgraded your forum via the admin link in SMF instead of doing it manually. This is a long time bug that they refuse to acknowledge or fix. To fix it, follow this article I've created long ago in the link below. Just make sure that you download the large upgrade package for the SMF version that you are currently using (2.0.17) found here:

https://download.simplemachines.org/

Then follow the article I've made here:

Hi, Phantom_Hugger and welcome to Webdevelop! :)

You can download the arcade here:

https://web-develop.ca/index.php?action=downloads;area=stable_smf_arcade

After you install the arcade, go to Admin -> Arcade Admin. In the Arcade Admin dropdown, click Manage Uploads. There, you can drag and drop the games or click "Browse" to search and add games stored on your device of choice.

After the game(s) have uploaded, go the Manage Installations to install the uploaded games so you can play them.

Whenever you move your site or change domains you'll need to use repair_settings.php:

You may also want to make sure your server has the necessary php and apache modules needed for the arcade.

Chen, can you post a list of those somewhere? I sure someone would find it useful sooner or later.

Yeah, kind of sucks about flash but they're doing it cause of the security issues....too many to keep up with probably. I have maybe 5000+ flash games. It's a shame you can't convert them to another format or something...
